Most of what keeps a property running is buried. Conduit, water and sewer lines, power feeds, fiber, drainage — none of it is visible until something goes wrong, and by then the question is usually expensive. Underground Infrastructure Inteligence exists to answer those questions before they become emergencies, and to answer them straight.
A specialist at Underground Infrastructure Inteligence answers the phone. That is deliberate. When you call (317) 350-4623you are not routing through a call center or waiting on a return call from someone who has never seen a site. You get the person who will be looking at yours.
What We Mean by Infrastructure
Infrastructure is a broad word, so here is how we use it. We are concerned with what sits below grade on a property or along a right-of-way — the systems that carry water, waste, power, and data, plus the ground conditions those systems depend on. That includes lines you know about, lines that were recorded wrong, and lines nobody documented at all.
Older properties are where this matters most. Records get lost between owners. Additions get tied into existing runs and never marked. A site plan from twenty years ago may be accurate for two thirds of what is actually down there. The remaining third is what causes the problems.
- Buried utility lines and conduit runs
- Water, sewer, and drainage systems
- Power feeds and communications pathways
- Ground conditions affecting what is buried in them
- Discrepancies between the records and reality
How a Site Gets Assessed
Every site starts with a conversation. What are you trying to do — build, dig, buy, sell, or fix something that has already failed? The answer changes what matters. A property you are about to purchase needs a different look than a lot you are about to trench across next week.
From there the work is methodical. We find out what documentation exists, we compare it to what is actually present, and we tell you where the two do not line up. An honest infrastructure assessment is as much about identifying the gaps in what is known as it is about confirming what is already on paper. Pretending certainty where there isn't any helps nobody, and it tends to cost money later.
What you get back is usable. Not a stack of paper that needs a translator — a clear account of what is under the site, what condition it appears to be in, and what that means for the decision in front of you.
If I don't know something for certain, I'll tell you I don't know it. That's worth more to you than a guess dressed up as a fact.
Working Around Your Schedule
We are available Monday through Sunday, 7:00am to 7:00pm. Seven days, twelve hours a day, because construction schedules and property problems do not respect business hours. If your crew is standing by on a Saturday morning waiting to know whether it is safe to dig, Saturday morning is when you need an answer — not Monday.
Those hours also mean we can work around occupied properties. Assessments on a commercial site can happen early, before staff arrive, or late in the evening after they have gone. On residential work, we can come when you are actually home rather than asking you to burn a vacation day.
- Available every day of the week, 7:00am to 7:00pm
- Early and late appointments for occupied properties
- Same-day response when a project is held up
- Direct line to the owner, not a dispatch queue
Talk to a Specialist Directly
The fastest way to find out whether we can help is to describe the situation. Call (317) 350-4623 and explain what you are dealing with — a planned excavation, a purchase you are evaluating, a recurring drainage problem, a set of records you do not trust. Roger will tell you what is involved and whether it is worth doing.
If a phone call is not convenient, email roger.veach@axiatp.com with the property address and a short description. Photos help. So does anything you already have on paper — old site plans, utility records, a survey, an inspection report from a previous sale. The more we start with, the less time gets spent recovering ground you have already covered.
There is no charge for the initial conversation, and no obligation attached to it. Some calls end with a scheduled visit. Some end with a suggestion that costs you nothing. Both are fine outcomes.
